AP: "A deeply unpopular Congress is bolting for the campaign trail without finishing its most basic job -- approving a budget for the government year that begins on Friday. Lawmakers also are postponing a major fight over taxes, two embarrassing ethics cases and other political hot potatoes until angry and frustrated voters render their verdict in the Nov. 2 elections."

Will you buy me a Gulfstream, daddy?
This WSJ article is critical of the Congressional purchase of 8 Gulfstream and Boeing jets for $550 millon. I like this comment:
"The whole thing kind of makes me sick to my stomach," said Sen. Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.) in an interview Sunday. "It is evidence that some of the cynicism about Washington is well placed -- that people get out of touch and they spend money like it's Monopoly money."Be sure to read the comments. In today's political climate, the comment sections on the web are the most interesting part.
